To make the homemade puffsbuns: In a large bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1/2 cup (150 grams) flour until fluffy.
Whisk in the milk.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and salt together until smooth.
To serve: Dip pills and biscuits into batter.
Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Cool before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
Recipe Notes The original recipe calls for whipping the butter and icing sugar, but the best version can be made with a little less butter and less icing sugar.
