MTV UnPlugged, MTV’s popular, Emmy-winning original scripted series, returns this week with a new, three-part series called A Bitch In The Shit.
Written and directed by James Larkin, the series centers around a man whose life has been turned upside down when his girlfriend gets a new job and the pair have to deal with her new boss, the obnoxious and sexist woman who hires him.
The series premiered in late June, but it only got more popular in the months that followed.
Now, MTV is rolling out the show on new platforms, including the newly launched MTV Digital Channel, the MTV YouTube channel, and the newly announced MTV VOD platform.
The series is also available to watch on the new Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Google Chromecast, with all the usual caveats.
“I think this series has been a lot of fun to write, and it’s been an incredible experience to see how much people have enjoyed it,” Larkin told MTV News.
“We’re all very grateful to everyone who has supported the show over the years.
I think there are so many new fans of our show, and I’m excited to be able to show them how we’ve taken it to the next level.”
The series will be available to stream exclusively on MTV Digital, which will also be the first platform to offer the series on its own channels.
“It’s a great opportunity to bring the best of MTV UnPacked to new viewers,” said MTV CEO Paul Lee.
“This new digital platform is an excellent opportunity for us to bring our original content to viewers who might not be familiar with the channel, but who are excited about the possibilities that it has.”
As part of the MTV Digital channel, the show will also have a new digital home on the MTV Vod platform.
In addition to the three-episode series, the channel will also debut a brand new documentary about the history of the show, which is set to air later this year.
“The first season of MTV’s new unplugged series A BITTLE IN THE BLOOD was a great experience for us, and we’re excited to bring it to viewers with this new digital channel,” Lee said.
“The A BITS series is an exciting new chapter in our storytelling and we can’t wait to share it with our loyal fans on MTV Un-Packed.”
